In this article, we present a novel context-aware system, the ContextDrive, which supports users in resuming their tasks and in re-using information in general. Hybrid usage context is recorded across tools and devices and fed into a context history. To search for information, users can employ parameters from the contexts in which they previously used that information. Going back to the information and its usage contexts is realized with a timeline-based search interface and so-called task maps. This article is a revised and augmented version of the author′s contribution to the Mensch-und-Computer-conference 2004. The original article gained the second place of the Best Paper Award at the conference.
