Community Based Services for Digital Interactive Television: The „Find-a-Friend“ Prototype

Digitalization of TV is the basis for new interactive services. New forms of communication applications are possible due to the changed technical general conditions. On-Demand services can enrich TV-reception. The “Find-a-Friend” prototype enables social contacts in local communities of TV viewers. Within a postcode area viewers can exchange text messages. The messages will be displayed over the TV-program as overlay.
