Today chemistry works increasingly with multi-dimensional(three or more dimensions) and extremely large amounts of data (thousands and millions of samples and data points). Embedding three-dimensional visualizations of such data into digital documents requires new strategies for distributed processing and rendering. The use of client-server-methods for minimizing network load and maximizing the utilization of client and server capabilities for interactive manipulation and visualization of data is required. On the basis of a number of client-server-application scenarios we show effective methods for the interactive processing of multi-dimensional data.
