Structure and characterization of methyl (±)-1-(2-aminophenyl)-2-hydroxy-4-(4-methoxybenzoyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2-acetate

The stoichiometry of 1 was derived from the results of elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C-NMR, UV-Vis and mass spectroscopic techniques. The structure derived from physico-chemical methods is consistent with that of the X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P-1, with a = 9.3895(12), b = 11.3759(11), c = 12.8077(14)Ĺ, α = 103.290(3)° β = 98.110(4)°, γ = 105.545(3)°, V = 1252.4(2)Ĺ3, Z = 2. The molecule has a non-planar configuration. The methoxy carbonylmethyl group exhibits an E-configuration. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C—H…O, N—H…O and O—H…O contacts.
