Various protonation parameters (pKBH+, φ and m*) of weak organic bases, N-aryhydroxamic acids have been determined following the Bunnett–Olsen method and Excess Acidity method in perchloric acid solutions. Thermodynamic parameters (ΔG°, ΔH° and ΔS°) of protonation reaction are also computed. These data are based on pKBH+ values, derived from Excess Acidity method. Interaction parameters, viz. values of activity coefficients and Setschenow constants of these reagents have been evaluated to explain the salting-in behaviour of the system.
