The bimetallic 2-(dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocenyl-compounds (FcN)3V (I), (FcN)2VCl (II), (FcN)VCl2 (III), (FcN)2VOLiCl (IV), (FcN)VOCp (V), (FcN)VOacac (VI), (FcN)2Mn (VII), (FcN)3Fe (VIII) and (FcN)3Tl (IX) were investigated by use of Mössbauer spectroscopy. The Mössbauer spectra were measured at 100 K and 295 K. (The (FcN)3Tl Mössbauer spectra were measured at four different temperatures. From these measurements the enthalpy of the charge-transfer-process was estimated.) Pure ferrocene (FcH), 2-(dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene (FcNH) and ferricinium-tetrafluoroborate ([Fc]+BF-4) were used as reference samples. Our aim was to obtain information on the intervalent electron transfer behaviour of these compounds. The complexes investigated show a linear correlation between the s electron density at the iron nucleus in the "ferricinium" part of the Mössbauer spectra and the magnetic moment measured for these compounds. A linear correlation was found for the conversion ferrocene-"ferricinium" and the measured UV/VIS1A1-1E1 band of these compounds.
