Magnetic Fluid Layer on a Cylinder in a Traveling Magnetic Field

The flow of a layer of an incompressible viscous magnetic fluid with a constant magnetic permeability on a cylinder under the action of a travelling magnetic field is analyzed. The strength of the magnetic field producing a sinusoidal travelling wave on the surface of a magnetic fluid is found. This flow can be used in designing mobile robots.
