The peculiar for two-temperature superdense plasmas mechanism of electron-ion energy exchange is considered. It is caused by local rearrangements of the plasma structure due to fluctuations of ion charge as a result of a sequence of ionization-recombination events. It is demonstrated that the corresponding energy exchange rate contains the extra factor Z2 (Z is the ion charge) and so exceeds the exchange rate due to elastic interactions of free electrons and ions.
