Crystal structures of N-(trichloroacetyl)morpholine and 2,6-di(trichloroacetyl)cyclohexanone

The crystal and molecular structure of the title compounds have been determined by X-ray analysis (N-(trichloroacetyl)morpholine, C6H8Cl3NO2, P21/a, a = 9.869(1) Å, b = 12.287(1) Å, c = 16.060(1) Å, β = 98.773(7)°, Z = 8; 2,6-di(trichloroacetyl)cyclohexanone, C10H8Cl6O3, Pbca, a = 10.553(1) Å, b = 15.405(2) Å, c = 18.435(2) Å, Z = 4). The morpholine and cyclohexane rings of both compounds adopt the chair conformation. There are some intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the title compounds, so the crystal structures of them are stabilized by C—H … Cl and C—H … O intra- and inter molecular hydrogen bonds.
